All Curt hitches feature WeatherTite construction which prevents rusting from the inside out by sealing the main body of the hitch. The receiver tube has an open back end to allow for easy cleaning and for dirt and moisture to pass through and not get trapped as is common with other brands of hitches. This is a great product and a perfect fit. First you do need to drill 2 holes in the lower bar on the front where the tie down hook is. Feeding the screws through is no problem at all with the fish wire. There was very little trimming on the plastic, one thing the instructions are not clear on is the hitch bracket needs to go between the frame and the bumper plate and you need two people unless you have a floor jack and strap it to the jack. I mostly use mine for a front cargo carrier (I use the ATV cargo carrier from Harbor Freight, because the hitch is lower the cargo carrier has a 7" or so lift) for coolers and other things. Works well with driving on the beach or if you are towing a trailer and need a little extra room or want a bike rack..
