Side note for Mazda Tribute / Ford Escape owners... your install will be a pain. Don't follow the ford manual in removing the front passenger tire/brakes/hub/cv joint/frame/etc unless you feel like it. Put it on jacks, undo the connectors/power on alternator, remove intake manifold on top of engine (including egr valve which is rigid). Undo all electrical harnesses if necessary to make room and then chimmy the alternator up along the firewall. There is barely enough room and will save you a couple hours off the side entry.
Do not mess with your exhaust manifold bolts next to the alternator or they could break off in the block from heat seizing.
