1997 - 2004 Dodge Dakota 3 in 1 piece Chrome Housing Headlight+Bumper+Corner light lamps Review

I purchased these replacement headlight assemblies to clean up the truck's appearance and provide better visibility. They look very nice and I think from a visibility standpoint they will be better too. I did swap out the old bulbs for Sylvania Silverstar. (Note: you will need (2) amber turn indicator bulbs per side as you are removing the amber lens)

However, some words of advice and caution. There is a good video on switching out headlights here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MntXOWA-fR8. Well worth watching. The new assemblies come with a new headlight connector locking ring - black, otherwise use existing assemblies. My issue is with fit. The driver's side fits loosely, even though all bolts and the pin are tight. The passenger side fits very snug, so much so you can't get the bottom outside bolt in place as the assembly doesn't touch the frame at that point - bolt too short. On both, there are noticeable gaps around the light, even though it is in place. I spent 5-10 minutes each side getting old one out and replacing bulbs. Another hour a side trying to get the new ones to line up and provide a reasonable install. So, will it fit - yes; does it look better - yes; could it have been engineered better - I think so.
