Curt Manufacturing 13550 Class III Receiver Review

This unit was PERFECT for my needs. I needed to carry an Allen 555RR Bike Rack. I didn't need to tow and don't plan on needing to tow BUT the 5-bike rack required a 2" hitch. I've used 2" to 1.25" adaptors in the past BUT there was a lot of sway. That wasn't an option in my current situation.

I sprayed some WD40 on the six original hitch bolts. I used a steel bristle brush to get the WD40 in the bolt heads. I waited about 15-minutes and then used a long handled ratchet with an 18mm socket and had all six bolts out within about 5-10 minutes.

I had two neighbors (poor suckers) hold the hitch while we got the six original bolts back in. (We didn't use the bolts from Curt as I had read they might be too short.) We then used a jack to keep the hitch tight and in position while we finished off the ratcheting.

The hitch worked perfect. The money I didn't spend on the installation paid for a lot of my bike rack :)

Dunlop K630 Rear Tire - 130/80S-16/-- Review

This is the stock rear tire of the 2004 Kawasaki Ninja 250. I am changing the tire now after 1 year and 10,000 miles because the tire is now bald. I ride normally, and stored the bike in the winter exposed to the elements (not by choice, just my station in life thus far) 10,000 miles for a motorcycle tire is decent, and this tire performs reasonably well in the rain and corners and at high speed (Think the 250 cannot go above 65? Think again!)

I also use the rear brakes all the time, which may explain the balding of the tire. However, most motorcyclists say that it is almost always the case for the rear tire to wear out faster/earlier than the front. The front tire (Dunlop K330, see my other review) looks way better than this one, but has tiny hairline cracks. It's always a good idea to replace both tires at the same time.

Besides the Timken reputation, I purchased this product because it shows the main axle bolt being supplied along with the four mounting bolts. The axle bolt is a one use bolt and must be replaced when removed. The hub assembly arrived without any of the four bolts.

The product description did not add any detail to suggest that the pictures were not representative of the item being purchased. Three of the four product pictures showed the five bolts.

I had to make a trip to the dealer for the axle bolts, which defeats some of the purpose of buying a product like this online.

WeatherTech Custom Fit Front FloorLiner for Infiniti EX, Tan Review

Very good product even though the visual fit and appeal seamed to be a bit off.

The drivers side sides rail lips are higher but maybe not high enough to protect the surrounding carpeting particular on the right side of your gas pedal foot when it is raised up on the pedal.

The WeatherTech passenger side mat lips are less pronounced and did not fit as snugly around the top edges as desired. We did not take out factory floor carpet mats as suggested but still feel product fit, color and feel could have been better for such a specialized product.

The rear WeatherTech floor liners fit perfectly but had the same issue of high but not really high enough on the sides to protect surrounding carpeting.

The WeatherTech Color is looks lighter and tanner looking in color VS the factory add on optional floor protectors that are more grayish in tint, giving them a darker better looking feel and appearance with their smaller bumped up rolled edge around the perimeter edge.

My problem with the factory floor liners is that they appear to have less spill containment and side carpeting protection than the WeatherTech liners. That being said the hole in bottom of the drivers liner for the security hook will act as drain so their is not much in the way of real liquid containment for either style liner so you are only gaining a few saved dollars and some side carpeting protection and loosing a few points for looks over the add on factory floor liners.
